The course rating is 74.1 and it has a slope rating of 131. Designed by Donald J. Ross, ASGCA, the #2 golf course opened in 1907.
For over 100 years the legends of the game have honed their skills here: 144 holes of challenge and drama, from the classic designs of Donald Ross and Ellis Maples to the modern concepts of Rees Jones and Tom Fazio. Experienced caddies, a staff of seasoned professionals, and the Pinehurst Golf Advantage School. Site of the 1999, 2005 and 2014 U.S. Open Championships.

The Pinehurst Business Guild welcomed nearly 200 artisans, crafters and more as it celebrated the 31st Annual Holly Arts and Crafts Festival. The event was held Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 10am to 4pm, and was located in the heart of Pinehurst's Historic Old Town area. Combining the talents of hand crafters in a variety of genres - from woodworking to glass, stitched art to lawn ornaments, hand-crafted jewelry to metal sculpture. Area restaurants and food vendors dot the gathering as downtown shops offer sales and specials. This event was well attended and we hope to see you there next year!

"This double-header, staged at one of the sport's most storied golf courses, promises to provide a promotion of women's championship golf unlike anything we've ever seen," US Golf Association (USGA) executive director David Fay said. The US Open will be staged on the Donald Ross-designed course on June 12-15, 2014, with the US Women's Open set to follow June 19-22.
